Nova Swiss To Win Again

3 minute read

The Alvin Tan trained Nova Swiss has been ultra impressive in both starts this time in and appears well placed to bring up the hat-trick in Singapore this evening.

Due to contest the fifth event, Nova Swiss has turned plenty of heads and appears set for a bright future in Singapore.

Formerly based in New Zealand the son of Swiss Ace displayed good ability in his five starts and while mixing his form at the trials, he has been very impressive on raceday.

In his Singapore debut two back, Nova Swiss pressed forward to settle second and always travelled strongly under Manoel Nunes.

Joining the lead passing the 300m, Nova Swiss displayed a very sharp turn of foot to quickly leave his rivals standing still inside the 200m.

Drawing away to score by three-and-a-half lengths, the clock also backed up the strength of his win.

Proceeding to confirm that level of performance, Nova Swiss was even more dominant at his next start saluting by four lengths.

On both occasions he has recorded slick time figures and it's very hard to see him taking a backwards step racing third up.

The decision to remain at a 1000m should post no concern and while stepping up in grade he still appears very well placed.

When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings Nova Swiss is a clear top pick and while drawn a touch awkwardly, he possesses enough early speed to negate this hindrance.

A winner of four of his seven starts, Nova Swiss is unbeaten over this trip and has won by a combined margin of 7.5L in his two attempts on the polytrack.

On career best form he still has a bit up his sleeve and given he is only lightly raced, Nova Swiss is expected to bring up the hat-trick.

The Michael Clements trained Super Line also won well last start and looms as a major threat despite the wide draw.

A winner of three of his five starts, Super Line has also displayed above average ability and he too remains open to further improvement.

Having finished third behind Super Six two back, Super Line went on to prove too good over 1100m last start.

Successful in recording a new career peak, if able to repeat or in fact improve, he shapes as one of the leading contenders.

The Desmond Koh trained Mr Luck has never missed the money at this course and distance and has to be included in the main chances.

A dominant winner last start, Mr Luck also comes into this off a new career peak and while giving weight away, he still commands respect.

From the wide draw he is likely to adopt a forward position and should be in this for a long way.

Of the rest the Leslie Khoo trained Ghost cannot be taken lightly as while mixing his form he is certainly more than capable on his day.

He has placed in 10 of 14 attempts at this track and has to be kept safe from the favourable draw.

Good luck and happy punting.
