Consistent performer Star Genius appears well placed to return to the winner's stall when due to contest the fifth event at Kranji this evening.

While somewhat a non-winner (2/12), Star Genius has placed on a further eight occasions and appears well placed dropping back to 1200m.

Two starts back Star Genius finished third behind both Distinctive Darci and Grand Cross, form which obviously reads well for this.

Although failing to finish in the minor placings last start, her performance still held merit when finishing fourth behind Dreamweaver.

Having made the sharp rise from 1100m to 1400m on that occasion, Star Genius didn't appear suited with arguably her best form achieved over 1200m (placed 5/5).

In six attempts at this track she has placed in five and rates highly on best form.

When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings, she sits clear of her rivals and if able to perform up to her best she looks to set a decent standard.

John Powell legs back aboard and from the middle draw Star Genius is expected to adopt a prominent position.

This is arguably one of the weaker races she has contested in some time and hence she should prove hard to beat.

Admittedly her overall win record is concerning, however she has continued to race well and has simply bumped into better horses on the day.

If she reproduces what she has in recent starts, she simply should be too good.

The Daniel Meagher trained Lim's Sprint remains under strong notice stepping out for his new stable having formerly being trained by Steven Burridge.

A winner of two of his 14 starts, the son of Swiss Ace has displayed decent ability and is more than capable on best form.

Whether Lim's Sprint is in fact better over further remains to be seen, however he is still more than capable of sprinting well fresh.

His two trials in the lead up have been solid enough and he looms as a major threat with Danny Beasley linking back aboard.

The Michael Clements trained Get Going has placed in 15 of 31 attempts and has to be respected with Manoel Nunes sticking aboard.

While failing to ever fire on the polytrack (0/6) he is certainly more than capable on his day and cannot be taken lightly despite the awkward draw.

On best form he appears well placed and is expected to make his presence felt.

Of the rest the Mark Walker trained Court Case appears the next in line as while mixing his form in recent efforts, he is certainly capable.

In 16 attempts at this track he has placed in eight and from the good draw he has to be included in the leading chances.
