Ipswich will play host to feature racing in Queensland this week with plenty of competitive races on offer.

Acatour will return from a spell when he lines up in the Listed City Of Ipswich Eye Liner Stakes.

The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained runner produced strong form last campaign and has won two recent trials leading into this.

Looking for more ground than what is on offer today but has won 2/3 when first up previously and has a solid record at the trip having missed the placings just once in four starts. Read More

Sydney Specials - Rosehill: Race 8 @ 3:45pm

A gradually improving track should result in a good punting card at Rosehill on Saturday.

The nine race card features some big fields throughout the afternoon and with the track potentially improving into the soft range, those sizes could hold up even after scratchings.

There were a few contenders for the best bet of the program however have settled on Carzoff in the #Theraces Benchmark 78 Handicap (1800m).

The Melbourne Mai - Moonee Valley: Race 8 @ 4:43pm

Perth form has been at the forefront of Melbourne punters thinking in recent weeks and it's there again this weekend with Heart Starter leading the Sandgroper charge.

Heart Starter arrives at The Valley off a run at Echuca that could well be the heart starter his campaign needed.

The Echuca Cup was fast, resulting in a big margin spread and a high rating, which was well advertised by winner Tshahitsi at Flemington last week.

It's a strong formline and the fast 1400m can be just what he needs to drag him up to his peak over the mile on Saturday - a peak that in Timeform terms has him very well placed against a strong, but largely well exposed field.

Looks a good betting card at Morphettville on Saturday.

In Race 5 Vivaldi's Quest has been running in much harder races than a BM70.

He was beaten a long way in the Euclase Stakes but his Redelva Stakes effort and resuming runs were fine – both behind Desert Lashes. Read More

Best From The West: Belmont: Race 5 @ 4:29pm (AEST)

The Simon Miller trained Scalpel returned in great order last start and appears well placed to go back to back in the fifth event at Belmont on Saturday.

An impressive winner on debut at Bunbury last time in, Scalpel displayed above average ability and while only fair at his second start, he has clearly made good improvement off a break. Read More
