Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for November 21.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Albury, Hawkesbury and Moe.
ALBURY: RACE 3 @ 3:25 PM
THE CUBAN (5) made it two nail-biting defeats on the bounce when edged out over this distance at Gundagai on Sunday after racing wide throughout. Like the quick back-up and the blinkers going on. Draws the fence so a long-awaited maiden win might come calling. HOT ONE (10) has been competitive in all three runs to date, most recently when 1.5 lengths adrift in a maiden over this course and distance. Sure to give a good account again. CANNY DEFENSE (3) has placed 2/2 over 1400m at this circuit including 13 days ago when he was strong late. Chance again from a better draw. DESERT OPAL (7) hasn't been beaten far at his last two runs, most recently when runner-up in a small field over the mile at Corowa. Back in trip but the blinkers should sharpen him up. SWINGING HIGH (13) surprised most when a game third over 1175m here last time out. Fitter and needs this longer trip now.
SELECTIONS: The Cuban to grab a well-deserved win.

HAWKESBURY: RACE 6 @ 8:20 AM
SHANGRI LA SPRING (6) was taken to the front on resumption when a commanding maiden winner over 1200m at Kembla Grange on November 6. Bumps into some stronger types here and looks to have the talent to win again. OBSCURE (8) stretches out to this trip for the first time after surging late when an eye-catching second over 1200m at Wyong last time out. Tempo suits and can figure prominently. LADY SAVANNAH (10) improved with each run in her first prep and shed her maiden status when a tough winner over 1300m at Newcastle on November 2. Drops in weight and gets a similar setup again. Goes close. SUPERHERO (3) back in grade second-up when a fighting on pace winner over 1400m here on November 7. Cross-over nose band goes on and he looks to have upside.
SELECTIONS: Shangri La Spring to win.
MOE: RACE 5 @ 3:00 PM
ALIGNING STARS (4) is a strong hope, off a good second placing on debut. He worked to the line well at Ballarat and gave every indication a mile would suit. He can improve again and looks clearly the one to beat. AMANOAH (12) was solid over this trip at Ballarat last time and has each-way claims. She's still lightly raced and the draw looks better for her this time around. SPELLMASTER (3) comes back to the mile having raced over a touch futher of late. His run three back over this trip at Cranbourne has him in the mix. AASFAH (11) ran well on debut at Benalla with every chance to improve from a soft gate.
SELECTIONS: Aligning Stars to win.
