The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“Club”) will stage the Hong Kong Reunification Raceday at Sha Tin Racecourse on Monday, 1 July to mark the 27th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (“HKSAR”) with the first race scheduled at 4.00pm.
The raceday will also feature an array of on-course activities headlined by TV Show "Midlife, Sing and Shine!" champions Albert Chau and German Ku in the Parade Ring to get the raceday off to a cracking start.
The 11-race programme will include three feature contests. The HK$2.84 million Class 2 Hong Kong Reunification Cup Handicap (1400 m) will be carded as Race 6 on the turf at 6.35pm, and CMA 90th Anniversary Cup and Guangdong-Hong Kong Cup Handicap will be carded as Races 4 and 7 on the turf at 5.30pm and 7.10pm, respectively.
The Opening Performance, scheduled for 3.10pm, will kick start the race meeting in style with live performances by the popular TV show "Midlife, Sing and Shine! 1 and 2" champions Albert Chau and German Ku. The other four singers of the "Midlife, Sing and Shine!", namely Miranda Lee, Ramon Lo, Raymond Tam ) and Micgo Ngan will each feature near Mezza One, Grandstand during race intervals.
Interactive game with prizes
On the day, Sha Tin racegoers may join the "Sha Tin Racecourse Delights" game via the "Discover" section on the Club's "Classic 3-in-1" app. The first 500 participants who submit correct answer at 7.10pm on the day will receive a designated prize (Terms and conditions apply. For more details, please refer to the "Sha Tin Racecourse Delights" website). The game will also be offered at the 6 July and 14 July twilight meetings at Sha Tin Racecourse.
Tourists enjoy free admission
Tourists to Hong Kong will be able to enjoy free admission by showing a valid travel document upon entry to the Public Enclosure (excluding fee-charging venues) at Sha Tin Racecourse on 1 July.
