Cambridge trainer Stephen Marsh took charge of a first class delivery to his Cambridge yard on Monday afternoon.

Marsh welcomed a float to the stable containing a quartet of talented young individuals to be set on paths to higher honours in the new season.

“Rocanto, Nahema, No More Tears and Sofia Rosa all arrived back – it was a pretty good truck load of horses,” Marsh said.

“Rocanto spelled really well, he’s grown and looks great. He might kick off next season in a three-year-old race at Ruakaka and we’ll be looking at running him second up in the Hawke’s Bay Guineas.

“The 1400 metres around Hastings should be ideal for him. He’ll be nominated for the 2000 Guineas, but I’m not totally convinced just yet that he would get a hard mile at Riccarton.”

Rocanto is the stakes winner of three races and he placed at the top level in the Diamond Stakes and Manawatu Sires’ Produce Stakes.

Nahema was successful on debut before she was narrowly beaten in the Gr.2 Matamata Breeders’ Stakes while No More Tears won the Listed Hamilton Vets Equine Stakes on debut. Sofia Rosa’s sole appearance brought a third placing in the Listed Champagne Stakes.

“Nahema and Sofia Rosa will probably go toward the Gold Trail Stakes and they could then head to the 1000 Guineas,” Marsh said.

“We’ll be nominating a few for Riccarton and No More Tears might kick off again in the fillies’ race at Wanganui.”

Serious Satire is another in the black type mix for the spring after impressing with her first effort to come from the tail of the field for second over 800 metres at Avondale last week.

“She’s another very good filly and she’ll be in those classic races,” Marsh said.
