Quality mare Let Her Rip is likely to find herself keeping the best of company later in the year.
The Cambridge mare is currently in the paddock after earning a break with an all-important black type credit from her last-start victory in the Gr.3 Rotorua Stakes.
Let Her Rip’s Arawa Park success came at the expense of the subsequent Trentham winner New York Minute and the Group Three winners Underthemoonlight and Gypsy Fair.“She’s having a month off and later on we’ll look to give her a quiet trial somewhere and we’ll probably run in the Tarzino Trophy (formerly the Makfi Challenge Stakes) first-up, she’s got a great fresh record,” trainer Shaune Ritchie said.
“If she strikes a wet track at Hastings it wouldn’t worry her at all.”A daughter of Rip Van Winkle, the four-year-old has won five races on the full range of underfoot conditions.
Meanwhile, Let Her Rip’s younger stablemate Cut Me Loose might be in contention for a trip to Australia next season. The son of Swiss Ace has won two of his four starts for Ritchie and at his most recent appearance he finished third in the Gr.2 Wellington Guineas behind the well-performed Saracino.
“We planned to take him to Queensland, but he went through a growth spurt and came right up in behind so we backed off,” Ritchie said.“He’s still green as grass, but he might be good enough to go to Melbourne in the spring.”
