The Mauritian rider took a heavy tumble from Silver Star in a barrier trial on Tuesday and was sent to Gleneagles Hospital for precautionary X-rays and CT scans, but thankfully, results have not revealed any fracture or internal injury.

Juglall was allowed to return home on the same day but was advised to rest for a couple of days, and see how he recovers before deciding if he will ride or not at this weekend's races.

“I was lucky the horse didn’t roll over me. I just felt some pain in the chest area, and that’s why the doctors decided to do a CT scan on top of X-rays just to be doubly sure there was no internal injury,” said Juglall.

“Thank God both are clear and I guess I am lucky I did not get hurt more seriously. It would have been really bad timing as I am doing so well now (current leader on five wins).”

Juglall will in the end sit out Friday's meeting and has been booked on six rides for Sunday.

The David Kok-trained Silver Star unfortunately could not be saved after fracturing his sesamoid and condylar bones. He was humanely euthanased.
