Exciting pair Rainbow Bridge and One World extended their unbeaten records at Durbanville last Saturday as they took another step towards big summer season targets at Kenilworth.

Each is unbeaten in four starts with Rainbow Bridge an awesome winner of the Matchem Stakes and One World fighting back for a tough win in the Progress Plate.

Bernard Fayd’Herbe was riding Rainbow Bridge for the first time and he won over the leading jockey with his impressive acceleration.

“He is an exciting horse with a turn of foot which is where he wins his races. With racing he is going to get better,” said Fayd’Herbe.

Trainer Eric Sands said the objectives for Rainbow Bridge are the G1 L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate and the G1 Sun Met. His Queens’s Plate lead-upo wil be in either the WSB Green Point on December 8 or the Premier Trophy on December 15.

One World’s trainer Vaughan Marshal has his eyes on the Cape Guineas with his rising star.

“It was a wonderful run and a fantastic win,” Marshall said.

“I will have a look at the Cape Classic (October 27) but he gets extra weight after this win. The mile of the Concord Cup (November 24) might be more suitable.”
