Overnight rain has caused the ground to change from good to good-to-soft but that shouldn't pose a problem for Celeborn in the one-mile nursery. 
George Boughey's juvenile ran on strongly to make a winning debut on good-to-soft ground at Leicester in June before being withdrawn at Doncaster after getting upset in the stalls a month later. 
Connections subsequently decided to geld him, and he looked much more willing when a steadily keeping-on third behind an impressive all-the-way winner at Salisbury earlier in the month.
The gelded son of Postponed should relish this testing mile on the Rowley Mile and with further improvement on the cards, George Boughey's contender can make a successful nursery debut off this potentially lenient mark of 80.

Newmarket 2.45 – Funny Story

Half an hour later at the same venue, Funny Story looks to have every chance of making her first outing in handicap company this season a winning one for in-form trainer Ralph Beckett. 
A comfortable winner of a Listed race over course and distance last October, Ralph Beckett's filly filled the runner-up spot in the same grade on her first two outings this campaign and has continued to perform with credit in stakes races. 
The prospect of some cut in the ground will do her chances no harm and she can make a successful return to handicap company by giving her rivals weight and a beating all round.
