UK: Guineas Favourites Head Fillies' Mile Declarations

3 minute read

White Moonstone and Theysken's Theory, currently vying for favouritism in next year's 1,000 Guineas market, will go head-to-head at Ascot on Saturday after both were declared for the Meon Valley Stud Fillies' Mile.

The key absentee at Thursday's declaration stage was Moyglare Stud Stakes winner Misty For Me. Aidan O'Brien had previously warned that a bruised foot sustained by the Group 1 winner had put her participation in doubt.

In her absence Ballydoyle will be represented by the experienced Together, who finished fourth behind her stablemate in the Curragh race.

The unbeaten Godolphin filly White Moonstone earned her place with a five lengths triumph in the May Hill Stakes at Doncaster while the Brian Meehan-trained Theysken's Theory captured Goodwood's Prestige Stakes last time out.

George Washington's daughter Date With Destiny, Fork Handles and the maiden Traffic Sister complete the line-up of six.

The unbeaten Henry Cecil colt Frankel heads another field of six for the Group 2 Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes, in which O'Brien will saddle two runners in Treasure Beach, who is stepping out of nurseries and Eskimo, who has not run since the royal meeting.

Listed winner and Group 2placed juvenile Klammer, trained by Jane Chapple-Hyam, provides the main British opposition to Frankel in a line-up completed by Happy Today and Slim Shadey.
