Jamie Spencer is set to miss the Betfred Ebor at York on August 20 after receiving a two-day suspension at Haydock.

The stewards found the jockey guilty of careless riding on third-placed Beyond Conceit, the 6-4 favourite for the Smooth Radio Maiden.

Spencer won the Ebor 12 months ago on Dirar, and could have partnered leading fancy Mount Athos this time, but the former champion jockey will sidelined on the big day and on August 21
