Sir Henry Cecil demonstrated his expert placing and preparation of a little-known filly for the second day in a row at Newmarket with Tickled Pink (8-1) in the Connaught Access Flooring Abernant Stakes.
Fresh from Hot Snap's victory in the Nell Gwyn, the grey daughter of top-class sprinter Cassandra Go looks to have inherited plenty of speed as she made all the running to collect by two lengths.
Tickled Pink previously had only a Yarmouth maiden to her name but is now a Group Three star.
"She's an improving mare and she'll have a Group-race programme. I'll feel my way," said Cecil.
"I thought it was worth running and she's nice. She'll improve when she gets some decent weather."
Mark Johnston's Windhoek (6-1) held on in a tight finish to the £200,000 Tattersalls Millions 3-Y-O Trophy.
Winner of his only start at Nottingham last May, the line came just in time for Joe Fanning with Luca Cumani runner Greatwood staying on to finish just a short head behind, with even-money favourite Ghurair closing himself in third.
"He fractured a pastern and then got a foot abscess, which wouldn't go away and he was 30kg overweight," said Johnston.
"I think he'll come on a lot for that. I'll have to talk to the owner but the Dante's certainly on the cards."
