Chriselliam, 5-1 favourite for the Qipco 1,000 Guineas with Ladbrokes, is undergoing treatment for a poisoned foot which has interrupted her preparation for the fillies' Classic.
Owned by a partnership that includes former champion Flat jockey Willie Carson, Chriselliam was revealed on Thursday to be Europe's top two-year-old filly for 2013 with a rating of 117, 3lb clear of Vorda in second and only 5lb behind leading juvenile colt Toormore.
Trainer Charlie Hills said the Fillies' Mile and Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies' Turf winner was responding well to treatment but that no chances would be taken with her.
"She has poison in her off-hind foot," he said. "We have had to get the infection under control which we seem to have done at the moment.
"It is obviously a setback and being the filly she is we are doing everything we can and are taking no chances at all. As she is one of the favourites for the Guineas we wanted people to know she has had a setback."
Hills trained his first Classic winner last season when Just The Judge triumphed in the Irish 1,000 Guineas having been second to Sky Lantern in the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket.
