Holywell leads Sky Bet Chase entries for Jonjo O'Neill

3 minute read

Cheltenham Gold Cup fourth Holywell is one of 22 possibles for Saturday's Sky Bet Chase at Doncaster.

Jonjo O'Neill has been very quiet since the turn of the year and will be hoping the rain stays away from Town Moor to enable him to run the nine-year-old.

Paddy Power Gold Cup winner Annacotty is a possible for Alan King who has also left in Ziga Boy, who was a course winner recently.

The Evan Williams-trained Buywise has been prominent in ante-post lists and could step up to three miles.

Irish Cavalier, last seen when fifth in the King George, could run for Rebecca Curtis who also has Doing Fine and Audacious Plan among the possibles.

The race, which is registered as the Great Yorkshire Chase, could also include Double Ross, Aachen, Black Thunder, Dolatulo, Le Reve and Court By Surprise.

The sole Irish representative is Arthur Moore's Pass The Hat.

Buywise holds an engagement at Cheltenham on the same day, but trainer Evan Williams said Doncaster was the first choice.

He said: "We want to go to the Sky Bet Chase at Doncaster with Buywise.

"He is also entered at Cheltenham on the same day but Doncaster is our preferred option as the ground should be better there.

"There is a fair bit of weather coming in, so we just wanted to make sure that we had all bases covered."
