Waady and Muthmir could line up in the King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot next month following creditable efforts at Haydock on Saturday.
The Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum-owned pair finished third and eighth respectively in the Temple Stakes, but racing manager Angus Gold felt both horses were inconvenienced by the rain-softened ground.
He said: "Waady ran really well. Graham (Lee) said he didn't really like the ground and felt he would have been bang there on better ground.
"The other horse just can't deal with that sort of ground at all, but Paul (Hanagan) was glad we ran him as he had a good blow.
"You wouldn't ideally want to run both in the King's Stand, but they both have plenty of speed for five furlongs.
"Muthmir is an out-and-out five-furlong horse.
"We could step Waady up to six furlongs. I might mention it to John (Gosden), but I think the answer would be no."
