Connections of Eagle Top are eyeing a trip to France at the weekend for a crack at the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud.
After missing an intended outing in the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot on account of the soft ground, the five-year-old is now being readied for a tilt at the Group One contest on Sunday.
The John Gosden-trained son of Pivotal suffered an odds-on reversal on his return to action in the Aston Park Stakes at Newbury last month.
Hugo Lascelles, racing manager to owner Lady Bamford, said: "Eagle Top is going to run in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud, ground permitting.
"That's what we are aiming for and after that we will just take it one step at a time with him."
Plans for an outing in France are also on the agenda for stable companion and Derby fourth Wings Of Desire, with the Grand Prix de Paris likely to be his next target, provided conditions are suitable.
Lascelles added: "Wings Of Desire goes for the Grand Prix de Paris on July 14. He has not done much since the Derby but he is in good form.
"The key to him is better ground and we won't be running him if it's soft."
