Queen Kindly, a leading member of the first crop of the undefeated two-time World Champion, Frankel, is set to take on the unbeaten American filly, Lady Aurelia, in a fantastic renewal of the Group 1 Connolly’s RED MILLS Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket’s Rowley Mile Racecourse on Saturday, 24th September.

The pair have 19 potential other opponents after 21 fillies stood their ground at yesterday’s (Tuesday) scratching stage for the £180,000 six furlong showpiece.

Trained in Yorkshire by Richard Fahey, Queen Kindly took her career record to three wins from four starts with a decisive three-quarters of a length victory in the Group 2 Lowther Stakes at York last month – a race that had been won by both her dam, Lady Of The Desert (in 2009) , and her granddam (Queen’s Logic in 2001).

The family tradition also covers the Connolly’s RED MILLS Cheveley Park Stakes, as Lady Of The Desert finished third in it when favourite while Queen’s Logic won it by no less than seven lengths.

Queen Kindly could be reopposed by her closest pursuer in the Lowther, Roly Poly, herself previously a Group 2 scorer in the Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes (sponsored by Imagine Cruising) at Newmarket’s Moët & Chandon July Festival.

But her biggest rival is set to be Lady Aurelia, who has been stabled in Newmarket since crossing the Atlantic for a second time to land the Group 1 Prix Morny at Deauville in France on 21st August.

Lady Aurelia had only three-quarters of a length to spare over another Connolly’s RED MILLS Cheveley Park Stakes entry, the Freddy Head-trained Alrahma, in the Morny but had earlier caused jaws to drop when running away with the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Richard Fahey, trainer of Queen Kindly, said:

“Queen Kindly is in good order. She is progressing physically and mentally the whole time.”

“She would be as quick as any two-year-old I have ever had and has been a natural from day one. I haven’t really had to train her – she’s done it herself.”

“We gave her a little bit of a break after the Lowther but we are stepping up her work again now and everything is going according to plan.”

“She’s from a wonderful fillies family and is bred to run in the Cheveley Park Stakes. There is no reason at all to think that the six furlongs of the Rowley Mile will not suit her.”

“Lady Aurelia was really impressive at Royal Ascot – she put up the two-year-old performance of the week – and though she was not so impressive in France it was still a solid performance. It will be great to take her on and it’s something that I’m really looking forward to.”
