Derby and Oaks credentials will be on display at Lingfield on Saturday, despite the card being switched to the all-weather due to adverse weather conditions.
Godolphin and Coolmore go head-to-head in the Listed Oaks Trial Fillies' Stakes (3:00) with Eternal Hope and Be Happy.
Eternal Hope steps into Black Type company for the first time after a comfortable Chelmsford win over ten furlongs in late February. The switch to the all-weather for this race undoubtedly plays to her advantage, having previously never raced on the originally programmed turf surface.
Be Happy was a debut winner at Cork before disappointing at Group 3 level on her only other start as a juvenile. She returned with a good third in the Group 3 Prix Penelope at Saint-Cloud behind impressive winner Pensee Du Jour, who remains unbeaten and a likely favourite for the Group 1 Prix de Diane (French Oaks).
Karl Burke boasts a strong hand with three-year-olds, and Bright Diamond is another potential winner this season. She was a well-beaten but staying on third in the Group 1 Fillies Mile at Newmarket on her final start of the juvenile campaign and will likely improve for the additional distance.
WIN: BRIGHT DIAMOND
Despite the change in surface, the Listed Lingfield Derby Trial Stakes (3:35) has attracted a strong field headed by Military Order. He dramatically shortened in price for the Epsom Derby after an impressive four-length success at Newbury over ten furlongs and has done little wrong in his career to date. He is a half-brother to Derby hero Adayar and could prove tough to beat.
Circle Of Fire represents HM The King and HM The Queen's Consort and looks like a promising type. He ran into a good winner in Castle Way when second in the Listed Newmarket Stakes and has shaped as though he will continue to progress for further experience.
The first raced foal out of Group 3 winner Precious Ramotswe, Inquiring Minds, was a very easy winner of a Newcastle maiden on the all-weather. Newmarket victor Waipiro has been re-routed to this race after being withdrawn at the start on the Friday of the Guineas weekend, after jockey Tom Marquand was kicked by another horse resulting in sizeable cut to his arm.
WIN: MILITARY ORDER
The older fillies and mares get their turn in the Group 3 7f Chartwell Fillies' Stakes (2:25) with Sacred looking to get her season off to a strong start. Winner of the Listed Dubai Duty Free Cup Stakes over seven furlongs at Newbury, she was a beaten favourite when second in the Group 2 Challenge Stakes behind Pogo. This will be her first attempt on the all-weather.
Queen Aminatu found her rhythm towards the back end of the 2022 season, recording victories in Listed contests on the all-weather at this track and in France. She returned in great fashion to win the All-Weather Fillies' And Mares' Championship Conditions Stakes at Newcastle before appearing to dislike the soft ground at the Curragh in a Group 3. Her ability on the all-weather will be a major advantage having won five and been placed twice from seven races on artificial surfaces.
Sandrine was considered an exciting prospect after her juvenile campaign, where she won the Group 2 Duchess of Cambridge Stakes over six furlongs. She didn't seem to show the same level of form at three, despite winning the Group 2 Lennox Stakes and finishing fifth in the Group 1 1000 Guineas. She isn't the most reliable but has plenty of talent on her day.
WIN: QUEEN AMINATU
