There are five meetings across the UK and Ireland to get stuck into today and Sam King returns with a trio of wagers on this fine Tuesday.
Beverley plays host to seven races this afternoon and Zinc White should get back to winning ways in the 137th Year Of The Watt Memorial Handicap at 4.55.
It's easy to excuse his down-the-field effort in the Ascot Stakes (Heritage Handicap) at Royal Ascot given the ground was definitely on the lively side for him. All three of his victories on the flat have come on ground officially described as soft and with that being the case at Beverley today, he should be capable of displaying his best form with some cut underfoot.
He made light work of a sizeable absence when making a winning stable debut in the Chester Plate Handicap in May. The son of Vadamos looked like the type of horse that could continue to climb the ranks in the staying division when getting his ground and I'm expecting him to regain the winning thread by defying a career-high mark of 92.
Selection: Zinc White – General 11/8
We go to Nottingham for our second wager and Enderman looks like a solid each-way proposition in the Download The Rhino.Bet App Handicap at 8.30.
Paul Midgley's charge struggles to get his head in front (1-32) but generally gives his running at this level and returns to more favoured conditions today. He finished a decent third in a similar competitive low-level sprint on the all-weather at Newcastle 18 days ago and a current mark of 55 is definitely workable.
The form of his half-length second on heavy ground over course and distance in May catches the eye and it is worth noting he's placed on all three starts over track and trip.
There are question marks about the ground for those more towards the fore of the market and at a general price of 6/1 he looks the one to side with.
Selection: Enderman – General 6/1
Heads turn to Ireland for the third and final selection. Killarney stages seven races this evening and the eye is drawn to the progressive Chally Chute in the William Hill Extra Place Races Daily Handicap at 7.50.
The gelded son of Fast Company completed a hat-trick over a mile and a half last autumn which included a commanding five-length success on heavy ground at Galway in October. He subsequently found himself running off 12lb higher when returning at Tipperary in April but showed a mark around that range was still workable with a solid running on third.
It is interesting connections have opted to go straight up to 2m1f here. His dam was a 2m4f winner over hurdles and he certainly shapes as though there could be plenty more to offer now tackling staying trips.
A 1lb nudge up the weights shouldn't pose too many issues and with ground conditions no concern either, it's easy to see why he's towards the head of the market at a general 10/3.
Selection: Chally Chute – General 10/3
