Paul Nicholls has mooted that Bravemansgame could contest the Coral Gold Cup at Newbury. Bravemansgame finished second to The Real Whacker on his reappearance in the Grade 2 Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby on Saturday and with Nicholls admitting he expected better, Bryan Drews charge may now return to handicap company.

Shark Hanlon revealed that his stable star Hewick is being lined up for a tilt at the Betfair Chase at Haydock in December should ground conditions be suitable. After a pleasing reappearance third at Punchestown last month, last year's King George hero lost nothing in defeat when edged out by multiple Grade 1 winner Envoi Allen Ladbrokes Champion Chase at Down Royal last weekend. Shark Hanlon has now revealed Hewick could head to Haydock for the Grade 1 Betfair Chase on November 23.

Coolmore has announced that their beautifully bred Group 1 Henry Longfellow has been retired to stand at stud. The of Dubawi – out of the multiple Group 1-winning mare Minding – rounded out a perfect juvenile campaign with a smooth success in the top-level National Stakes at the Curragh. Henry Longfellow failed to win in five outings as a three-year-old, but he did finish a neck behind Rosallion in the St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot, before finishing fourth and third respectively in the Sussex Stakes and Prix du Moulin.

Jerome Reynier's Lazzat could head to the Hong Kong Mile at Sha Tin after his monumental effort in the lucrative Golden Eagle at Rosehill. The top-class four-year-old took his record to five-from-five when winning the Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville in August and lost nothing in defeat mowed down late by the William Haggas-trained Lake Forest.

John and Thady Gosden have handed Lead Artist an international assignment as he bids to become their first winner of the $1 million Bahrain International Trophy later this month. Juddmonte's progressive three-year-old will step up to ten furlongs for the first time following his smooth Group 3 success at Newmarket last month.
