Simon and Ed Crisford took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to announce stable star Vandeek would miss his intended target in the Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville due to a setback. The statement read: "Unfortunately Vandeek has met with a setback and it is too early to say how much time he will need before resuming full training. It is very frustrating for everyone concerned as he had looked as good as ever in his recent work."

The exciting Quddwah is set to step up in class for the Group 1 Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville next month. Unbeaten in four starts, the four-year-old remains lightly raced and followed up a victory in the Listed Paradise Stakes on the straight mile at Ascot with a success on the round course in the Group 2 Summer Mile Stakes. A son of Kingman, the colt is untried at the highest level and represents an exciting prospect for trainers Simon and Ed Crisford.

The form of Arabie's win in the Group 3 Prix du Bois at Chantilly last month was given a significant boost with the third-placed Daylight winning the Group 3 Prix Cabourg at Deauville on Sunday. Karl Burke's charge was an easy winner of the Prix du Bois in June, with favourite Daylight two lengths behind in third, but she bounced back to best with a two-and-a-half length victory over six furlongs. A daughter of Earthlight, the Patrice Cottier filly will return to Deauville for the Group 1 Prix Morny next month.
