Drawn wide in stall one, the Charlie Appleby-trained daughter of Siyouni settled nicely behind her stablemate Wild Angel, while Ryan Moore led the smaller group of runners more towards the near side.

The eye was quickly drawn to Buick's mount as she moved effortlessly into contention coming into the dip and with a smart turn of foot, Appleby's filly quickly took up the advantage.

Buick only had to push his mount out using hands and heels riding and although she displayed clear signs of greenness when out in front on her own, the final result never looked in danger.

"She's a scopey filly and we've given her time," said Appleby after watching his 2/1 market leader stretch clear for a commanding five-length success. "She's been on the back burner really and it's only the last three or four weeks that we've started to bring her up into the ranks and every time she's done a bit, she's pleased us, and we've stepped her up again.

"We came here confident that bar greenness she'd be a filly that had a bright future"

Paddy Power introduced Verse Of Love at 16/1 for next year's 1000 Guineas and Appleby sees no reason why not to work back from the big spring targets.

"It's nice to go into the winter after a nice experience and we'll stick her in a trial in the spring and see where we are. I'll be honest, I see no reason why she won't be going down that route of a 1000 Guineas trial next year.

"I think you always find those good horses know their job, when they travel even through greenness they pick up and can go through the gears."

Winning rider William Buick added: "That was a nice introduction, and she should improve plenty for it. She's a filly to certainly look forward to next year.

On the prospect of stepping up to a mile, Buick added: "You'd definitely like to think it would be within range next year."
