So long Golden Sixty

3 minute read

Arguably Hong Kong's "best horse ever" was given a grand farewell at Sha Tin on Sunday.  AS usual he took it all in his stride and it was the connections and fans that were the emotional ones.

The Celebration Cup was G3 and the feature of the afternoon and here The Golden Scenery managed the conditions admirably to win for Tony Cruz and Brenton Avdulla having started on 5.9. Taj Dragon was second  and Healthy Happy on 26.0 third.  Favourite Chiu Chow Spirit was forced to race wide and without cover for most of the race and finished fifth.

The get-out Class 2 Race 10 saw Harmony N Blessed win for David Hayes and de Melo starting on 22.0 with Superb Capitalist second on 7.1 and Copartner Prince third.  Young Champion was found to have blood in the trachea after the race and both he and Full Credit will need to trial before racing again.
