Craig Williams, currently enjoying a mini-season in Japan, will be aboard Donau Blue, who was beaten at Nakayama but won her 2 starts before that.

The competition is mega stiff. Apapane, the triple Tiara winner won this last year in record time. Marcellina, another Deep Impact daughter, has won at G1 level, and Whale Capture has never finished worse than 5th.

It would not be a surprise if the winner came from outside these - Lady Alba Rose won at Nakayama in a stiff 1600m test and beat several of these and there are several others with serious claims.

The weather is supposed to be fine too so it should be a great race.
