3 minute read

The Eclipse is named after one of the greatest horses of all time.

This year just eight will line up to try and follow in his hoofprints.  One of them, City of Troy, has already won the Derby and is trying to get a fairly rare double with this race.  He's odds-on at 1/3 which means unbackable and considering he is doing the trip for the first time and is up against older horses it's quite an ask but both Aidan O'Brien and Ryan Moore are oozing confidence.  O'Brien has removed a couple of his runners and just left in Hans Anderson as the pace maker.

Next in the market is Dancing Gemini for Teal-Shoemark on 13/2 and Ghost Writer whom we rather like is on 7/1 for Cox-Kingscote.

Rain is expected – how much and when we don't know as yet.

Earlier there's the G3 Coral Charge over 1000m and we have gone a bit wide on this one and have landed on Desperate Hero on 5/1 for Channon-Rodriguez, Makarova 13/2 who owes us and Purosangue 14/1.
