The Diamond Jubilee Stakes Betting and Main Chances
Below are some of the major chances and Betfair odds at time of publication. These are subject to change. With acceptances taken after this Magazine is published some significant entries may go unmentioned.
Society Rock ($5.80) runs in his fourth Diamond (Golden) Jubilee. He was second to Starspangledbanner, won in 2011 then only two lengths back to Black Caviar. His kick off was a head win at York in the Duke Of York.
The regally named mare Mince ($16) was in the betting in the Duke Of York but finished midfield then closer at Windsor. However her form from last season was excellent, especially toward season’s end.
Reckless Abandon ($18.50) could well run here instead of the King’s Stand as the 3yos have a better recent strike rate in the longer race though final decision not confirmed either way. His form is absolutely outstanding.
The ‘I’ve been everywhere man’ Gordon Lord Byron ($9) can’t be left out. He has raced in Ireland, England, France, Hong Kong and Dubai and taken on many sprinting tasks with gusto. He would love some give in the ground by Day Five.
Australia has Sea Siren ($12) entered and while it is a tough race for the newly acquired Coolmore Fastnet Rock mare, at least she looked to rebound well in the Doomben 10,000 which was a fast run race.
