The King’s Stand Stakes Betting and Main Chances
Below are some of the major chances and Betfair odds at time of publication. These are subject to change. With acceptances taken after this Magazine is published some significant entries may go unmentioned.
Shea Shea ($3.25) was an impressive winner of the Al Quoz Sprint for legendary South African trainer Mike De Kock and while the Ascot straight is a test, the five furlongs should still be short enough.
Former Nunthorpe winner over Starspangledbanner, Sole Power ($10.50) is now a 6yo but still winning races such as his G3 victory at Newmarket on 2000 Guineas day. He has form through Shea Shea in Dubai.
Shamexpress ($10.50) attempts to win the race for the Aussies once more. Unlike those previous runners, he doesn’t come from winning the Lightning but instead the handicap version being the Newmarket whereas three of the others won both.
The previously unbeaten Reckless Abandon ($7.40) kicked off his 2013 campaign with his first defeat behind Kingsgate Native in the Temple Stakes. He was not far away and forgive him his first attempt at open grade.
Swiss Spirit ($11.50) worked to the line strongly in that Temple Stakes. He was a G3 winner last year and no doubt has been set for this carnival.
