The Trial Files team look to find you a few for Saturday

Racing And Sports is pleased to introduce for punters the services from The Trial Files. Their team specialise in viewing Barrier Trials from Victoria, NSW and WA and analyse them for future race performances.

The Trial Files don’t just provide recommended selections but also provide a full trial review service which delivers information for all punters to use. They aim to educate people on trial information and stimulate wagering on those horses in the process.

Please find below some of their best for the weekend based on recent trials around the country.

1. Rosehill Race 5 – 9 Runway Star

TRIAL COMMENTS

RUNWAY STAR showed her customary speed after jumping away evenly. She whipped around them to take up the running and really broke the field up. Simply ran them ragged. Eased up on the line and liked the way she didn't slow as she was entitled too. Blistering time and surely due to show something on the track.

SUMMARY

The quaddie kicks off with a Benchmark 74 over 1200m for the 3YOs and it is an interesting affair. A number of these have actually been in the blackbook recently and performed quite well so the race is a good one. No out and out leader engaged but a few that like to be handy which should ensure a reasonable tempo.

Our horse of focus here is actually RUNWAY STAR. The daughter of Northern Meteor is a horse that has loads of ability but continually does things in races to cost her any chance of winning. She has actually started under $3 in all 4 career starts, having only won the once on debut when a $1.80 favourite. She hung badly last start back in May and was ordered to trial. That trial was very impressive and we are expecting her to be at her best today and feel she can measure up.

2. Kembla Race 7 – 4 Windrunner

TRIAL COMMENTS

WINDRUNNER - Jumped smartly and took up the running. Cruised out in front and cleared out by a couple of lengths. Under a stranglehold in this trial and ran smart time. Impressive.

SUMMARY

A small field for this Class 1 over 1000m and this looks another ideal race for our blackbooker WINDRUNNER. Surprisingly, the Vandyke trained filly made her way to Canberra to kick off her campaign and she did as she pleased in what was essentially a $15,000 track gallop. The 5 length win was expected and this filly is on her way to much bigger things. Her trial leading into that first-up run suggested she was flying and she can continue that into the race here. Not expecting big odds by any means but she is expected to be winning here.

3. Kembla Race 8 – 3 Rivariva

TRIAL COMMENTS

RIVARIVA settled fourth and fifth in this heat. Tended to over race slightly and was throwing its head around a bit. Blinkers on. Was blocked for a clear run in the straight and was under a tight hold. Was clearly going better than many of these and finished right on the leaders back. Going well and back in form. Worth following. LONG KISS was in the last few on settling. Made a wide in the straight and got to the leaders very quickly. Just urged along ever so slightly late but loved the way she loomed into the race. Better for the trial and a very nice winning performance.

SUMMARY

We round out the day at Kembla with a Class 2 over 1300m. Expecting CHOISIR LA ROUGE to lead with CALIBRATE likely to work forward from barrier 13 also. Pace should be reasonable. Disappointing that RIVARIVA couldn’t finish in the placings last start at Wyong when held up for a run in the straight. No doubting he would have finished closer. Today he draws barrier 1 and should get a lovely run in transit. Again, he may need a split in the straight but he is clearly going well and must be considered a strong chance to break through for his second win.

A really awkward race to do the form for as a number of these really tend to mix their form and not sure they are all that genuine. CHOISIR LA ROUGE is one of these. On his day, he has the ability to win this. He will be given a chance out in front and could give a sight. METEOROS was really good last start, coming from well back to run fourth in a reasonable race. He is the highest rated horse in the race and carries top weight. The claim for Jess Taylor helps and if they go hard out in front, look for him to be charging late. The Chris Waller trained LONG KISS is an intriguing runner. Another that has a bit of ability as shown in her trials and win on debut. Barrier 11 isn’t ideal but with even luck she can show up at a reasonable price. Expecting improvement from her last start poor effort and one for the multiples at odds.

No odds at the time of writing this but definitely feel our blackbooker RIVARIVA can run a race and be in the finish. Think he is going well this time in and happy to play accordingly. Each way odds would be nice.

4. Belmont Race 7 – 8 Sireeze

TRIAL COMMENTS

SIREEZE – This was low flying. He was last as they turned and stuck to the fence but a run just appeared for him between horses and he went straight through in the blink of an eye. Never pushed out at all and he won very easily.

SUMMARY

SIREEZE was huge first-up following a superb trial, when looking a winning chance at the 200m only to be overhauled late by Celebrity Miss who went on to run in the Beaufine the following week. Drops 3kg and has a much better draw today meaning he won’t have to do as much work early to get across. Will either be able to take up the running or let EXPRESS SERVICE or ZESTER come across him and take the sit. That bold first up run would have topped him off nicely for this and he is much better suited at the 1300m.

We all know about FIDDLERS ELBOW, always gets a long way back and charges to the line. One of these days he will pick up a race like this and it won’t be a surprise. That could well be today. Like SIREEZE, he drops 3kg from last start, but he only carries 51.5kg with the claim for Lucy Warwick. His racing pattern makes it hard to be confident with him, but the weight advantage over the other key chances is critical. FIDDLERS ELBOW looks hard to beat, while blackbooker SIREEZE could prove hard to catch. MY BONNY LAD at his best is a chance to knock them all off.
