Some Great King Georges
Next week is the running of one of the great races of the European summer - The King George
We’ll take a look in the next two week at some of them.
In 2010 Sir Michael Stoute had his Derby winning colt Workforce an odds-on favourite but it was his older stable mate Harbinger who destroyed them in one of the great performances in recent memory.
Sadly injury would mean he would never race again but it was a brutal effort.
Two years later we saw a renewal which included many horses who would race in Australia at some stages such as Reliable Man, Sea Moon, Dunaden, Brown Panther and Masked Marvel.
However it was the Arc winning mare Danedream who got up by a nose over the defending champ Nathaniel.
