Chris Scholtz - Early Thoughts
R&S Contributing Editor Chris Scholtz takes a look at tomorrow’s Sydney racing.
SELECTIONS
Imposing filly by Redoute’s Choice who had four trials before producing an eye catcher on debut at Canterbury when she swept home from last for an impressive fourth over 1250m.
Certain to have taken plenty of benefit from that first race experience that indicates she will be very comfortable over 1400m on this bigger track.
Randwick Race 4 - 6 Divine Sanction
Worked to the line strongly at third run back from a spell when third over this course and distance on May 18 carrying 58.5kg.
That was just his fourth career start and there is obvious improvement to come with blinkers on and a handy 4.5kg drop in weight.
With a short-priced favourite untested over this distance dominating the betting there is plenty of each-way value to be found in this accomplished G1 winner over a distance that has seen him win a Queensland Derby and finish close up in two Caulfield Cups.
His four runs since resuming suggest he is going well enough to be well suited getting out to 2400m once again, especially if there happens to be some rain.
