Chris Scholtz - Early Thoughts
R&S Contributing Editor Chris Scholtz takes a look at tomorrow’s Sydney racing.
SELECTIONS
Form and fitness and has improved with each run this campaign and doesn’t have to find much on last start third in heavy going over 1400m at this track on June 17 to turn the tables on the winner Just Dreaming.
The favourable factors for him this time are better track conditions and the extra 100m which he has been looking in all his runs since resuming. Of course a Chris Waller runner on his home track with Bowman on board speaks for itself.
Ready to peak third up after contesting two strong races since resuming. Followed first-up fourth in the heavy over 1100m at Randwick by holding ground well when close third over 1200m at this course on June 17, again on a wet track.
That was her first loss in three Rosehill starts and she should benefit from better track conditions this time. She won third-up last campaign and this class suits. Ready to win.
Quality sprinter is nicely placed in this company after showing positive signs of returning to his best in his two starts since resuming.
Took on 1400m first-up when beaten less than two lengths at this course under 59kg on June 3 and then had to work in the run when beaten only a length under 59kg in the Eye Liner Stakes (1350m) at Ipswich on June 17.
Comes back to a track where he has won four times, drops a handy 2.5kg off his last start and has the ideal draw to enjoy a soft run parked on the back of the speed. Value in a tough race.
