Talented speedster Lord Of The Sky has romped home in the Monash Stakes, winning by a space and confirming the big promise he has shown to this point.
Lord Of The Sky jumped straight to the front and was never headed, his new stablemate Mr Make Believe riding shotgun with Le Bonsir settling third.
The race was over a long way from home with Lord Of The Sky travelling far too strongly through the turn and the chasing pack left in his wake when he kicked on for home.
Le Bonsir managed to finish best of those chasing with Riziz grabbing third ahead of Mr Make Believe.
"On the corner I thought he will either find or get run over. I doubt him all the time," said trainer Robbie Laing who is having a hot run of late.
"58kgs on a slow 7 or heavy 8 at 1100m was a concern, he failed at his first start at 1100m and we have sort of avoided it ever since, but he's gone on and won well.
"He's a very good horse."
Laing will now target the Bletchingly before taking stock, his plan to pick one or two targets each campaign and take his time with the son of Danerich.
"We've got to have crack at the Bletchingly," Laing said.
"Two weeks time, back here at Caulfield, hopefully it's a case of deja vu."
