Trainer Toby Edmonds has advised Racing Queensland stewards that Sundance was found to have an abscess on its off hind hoof earlier this week.

The abscess has subsequently been lanced and the colt will work on the course proper at the Gold Coast on Thursday morning.

Sundance’s condition will then be monitored in the build-up to Saturday's race with an examination to be performed by a Racing Queensland vet on Friday.

* IN the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas on Saturday jockey Michael Cahill has been double booked for Real Good and second emergency Hesitation.

Stewards have confirmed that Cahill intends to ride Hesitation should the horse gain a start in the final field.

* RACING Queensland stewards have confirmed the eligibility of two-year-old colt Punishing for the Magic Millions Racing Women’s Bonus in Saturday’s $2 million Magic Millions Classic.

The conditions for the Magic Millions Racing Women’s $500,000 Bonus to be distributed amongst connections of the first four all-female owned or leased horses past the post in finishing order in the MM Classic stipulate an eligible graduate of a Magic Millions Yearling Sale must be nominated to the Magic Millions Race Series, be 100% owned or leased by females and not have changed ownership or a lease been effected within three months prior to the date of the race.

A question over the eligibility of Punishing for the bonus arose after trainer Liam Birchley failed to amend his stable return for the colt, thereby failing to advertise the registered lessees correctly.

RQ Stewards were able to confirm that a lease listing 13 females as the only lessees of Punishing was executed on October 6 and that the lease as executed in full was received by Racing Queensland on October 8 outside of the three month limitation period.

In following due process, stewards will also review the ownership details of all horses eligible for the incentive in order to ensure the integrity of the Racing Women’s Bonus Scheme.
