BEST BET: CLEVER MAN (Race 1)
EACH-WAY: ACTION IN CAIRNS (Race 6)
VALUE: OUTINTHESTREET (Race 8)
RACE 1 - 12:35PM NRC Membership Out Now Benchmark 56 Handicap (2350 METRES)
CLEVER MAN was an impressive winner three starts and his past couple have been solid for a race like this. He gets in OK after the Ben Price claim and is a clear top pick. Worth backing if he gets anywhere near black figures after opening well in the red. SOSTENIDO shapes as a danger coming off a handy effort behind Aussie Sojourn at Gawler during the week. The Jaensch pair of IRONICAL and JUST ROLLING both have some appeal. There has been money for BEACH GOD who has OK form for a race like this.
SELECTIONS: 1. CLEVER MAN, 5. Sostenido, 2. Just Rolling
RACE 2 - 1:15PM S E Motor Company Maiden Plate (1000 METRES)
Happy to stay out of this one. Michael Hickmott is left with STASIA after scratching Smart Ace. STASIA raced on speed behind and was OK behind Self Sufficient at Morphettville last time out which is good form for a race like this. DALE'S ROCKET has had market support in runs before a break and has trialled OK. LOVE TO LOVE could be one to watch, a former NSW galloper on debut for the Jaensch stable but hasn't been supported in early betting. ATTACK THE PIN is still a maiden after 12 starts but likes to be on speed and making his own luck.
SELECTIONS: 7. STASIA, 1. Dale's Rocket, 3. Love To Love
RACE 3 - 1:55PM Mini Jumbuk Naracoorte Cup 6th February 2022 Benchmark 64 Handicap (1430 METRES)
Happy to stay with SICILIAN WITNESS who was a good winner in a Balaklava maiden last time out and looks well placed here after the claim. LONGMIRE knows his way around here and was runner-up behind Action In Cairns at Bordertown last start which is good form. CANNY MOVE is dropping in grade after chasing home Morialta at Murray Bridge last time and was a Casterton winner earlier this campaign. MISS MOSH is another back in class and can run into the multiples.
SELECTIONS: 3. SICILIAN WITNESS, 2. Longmire, 1. Canny Move
RACE 4 - 2:30PM Sir Loin Butchers Benchmark 68 Handicap (1800 METRES)
I like CAMPOBASSO but he comes up very short at $1.75. His form line is strong for this coming off a Morphettville win two runs back and he gets a nice weight relief with the claim. SANTELMO FUEGO has been steadily improving and ran well behind Turfitt at Morphettville last time out, he is a clear second pick in a race lacking depth. FORAOISE has been backed at big odds his past couple but hard to see him threatening the top two in the market.
SELECTIONS: 1. CAMPOBASSO, 2. Santelmo Fuego, 6. Foraoise
RACE 5 - 3:05PM Coopers Maiden Plate (1430 METRES)
PRINCE OF FENCES comes up short but looks the winner on a repeat of his 4th behind Turfitt at Morphettville two starts back before following that with an OK effort The Brumby there last time. KHESHIG has each-way appeal on his Gawler placing behind Go Bundle two starts back and the Macdonald/Gluyas team don't come to Naracoorte often. SALUTE THE CANNONS was placed behind Four Outlaws here three starts back and is worth some thought. SPIRITED MARY is big odds and didn't run a bad race behind Howl at Balaklava two starts back.
SELECTIONS: 5. PRINCE OF FENCES, 4. Kheshig, 6. Salute The Cannons
RACE 6 - 3:40PM Limestone Coast Pest Control Benchmark 68 Handicap (1000 METRES)
Good little betting race. I thought ACTION IN CAIRNS had good each-way claims before scratchings after a Bordertown win beating Longmire. HONEY GO LIGHTLY has been racing well in slightly superior company and was 2nd behind Star Of Manhattan at Morphettville two starts back. Brett Campbell has gone for the blinkers again. LUCIAN was an Edenhope winner two starts back and then placed behind Early Plea last start, he draws wide but has solid claims. KYZAMBA must be kept safe in a race like this, FIRST REWARD is capable.
SELECTIONS: 2. ACTION IN CAIRNS, 5. Honey Go Lightly, 3. Lucian
RACE 7 - 4:15PM Cuban Toonite NRC Horse of the Year Benchmark 58 Handicap (Heat 6 NJT Series) (1200 METRES)
Another good little betting race. Happy to stay with SCENIC HOST who was a good Bordertown winner two starts back before he went to town and really only got going when the race was over on the Parks track. BOOMER BEACH is a top chance and scored Balaklava three starts back. The inside gate could be a slight concern. One at a price who must be kept safe is CLOUD NINE who is on debut for Jim Cerchi and has the blinkers on. THIS KID ROCKS has been a while between drinks, but he races well here, and his best would take beating. FAST 'N' FORWARD has had market support.
SELECTIONS: 6. SCENIC HOST, 2. Boomer Beach, 10. Cloud Nine
RACE 8 - 4:50PM TAB Benchmark 54 Handicap (1430 METRES)
Tough end to the day and plenty who can win, only a couple you can leave out of a quaddie. OUTINTHESTREET was a good winner here first-up then average behind Keysor at Bordertown. SADUKA races well fresh and defeated Just Rolling at Bordertown back in March. LOOSE LIP LLOYD was placed behind Keysor at Bordertown and chased him home again at Gawler. O'MIZZNA ran favourite in the race won by Outinthestreet. HALO QUEST was a Warrnambool winner in February. ATOMIC TEXIE has a handy record and shapes well from the inside draw, LINGJUN TOPGUN draws a good barrier and AZZURO BIANCO can measure-up.
SELECTIONS: 7. OUTINTHESTREET, 5. Saduka, 13. O'Mizzna
