Reigning New Zealand Bloodstock Canberra Horse of the Year Easy Rosie will return to her pet track on Friday to contest a strong TAB Federal (1400m).
The Anthony Warren-trained four-year-old Easy Rosie returns to Thoroughbred Park fourth up, after two impressive fourth placings in the SERA Country Championships Qualifier (1400m) and Southern Wild Card Country Championships Qualifier (1400m) before a 7 th placing at Newcastle over the mile.
Goulburn-based Trainer Anthony Warren has been toying with which gear will get the best out of his talented mare and will experiment with all gear off on Friday.
"We're taking all the gear off her after having the visors on at the mile last start." Warren said. "She ran really well her first two starts this preparation and was only a few lengths off them last start."
"I think the 1400m is suitable here and I'd rather her up in the weights, down in class and down in distance, while we work out what equipment will work best for her."
Easy Rosie boasts three wins and two thirds from just five starts at Thoroughbred Park and Warren is keen to get his mare back to a track where she has had so much success before.
"That's definitely another reason we've chosen this race." Warren said. "She knows this track really well and obviously races so well here."
"She's been working really well and will be very competitive."
Easy Rosie has compiled over $110,000 in prizemoney in her 17-start career. She has four career victories and six minor placings going into Friday's assignment.
Fellow Goulburn galloper Unique Prince looks a likely threat. The Matthew Dale five-year-old is a last start TAB Federal (1300m) winner, after a string of consistent performances.
On a seven day back up, Unique Prince had three seconds and a fourth from his four starts prior to winning last Friday at Thoroughbred Park.
The eight race program at Thoroughbred Park on Friday kicks off with the Ginninderra Cricket Club Handicap (1300m) at 12:30pm.
