Winning Trainer: Gary Portelli
On the protest: "I didn't realise watching it live that it was so tight there until we watched the head-on shot.
"Jamie said 'I think he should have won'. So we said, let's watch it. When we saw that she took the rail the last 25m, the rules are you can't squeeze them up. So anyway, we got the money.
"We bought the half-brother to him at Easter. We paid $480,000-odd for him, he's by Pierata, a half-brother, so the mare is doing a great job."
Plan for him?: "I'll talk to the boys, He's a gelding, he's well bred and he might go to Brisbane. We'll see how he pulls up."
Is he a Derby horse?: "I don't know. His quality might take him out to a Derby trip but certainly there will be something up there for him. He won't earn money sitting in the stable or in a paddock eating grass."
"He has been so consistent. He hasn't run a bad race yet. Barrier one, finally, and he got every chance, good ride. It would have been tragic to see him get beaten."
Winning Jockey: Jamie Kah (Protest upheld)
On the win: "My horse was going to go past the other horse and win the race."
"The margin is very small but I felt like my horse was going to go on and win easily.
"The interference has definitely cost me a good length, I think.''
Beaten Jockeys:
James McDonald (Tannhauser): "Good run."
Tim Clark (Gold Bullion): "He really toughed it out. He got to the front and just sort of floated until he felt something come to him. Even at the top of the straight Dylan (Gibbons on Our Gold Hope) sort of went straight past him but he kept finding and was tough right to the line. So it was a really strong effort."
Tommy Berry (Ravello): "Just really struggled in the conditions."
Mark Zahra (Anderson Bridge): "Just looking for further."
Regan Bayliss (Uncle Harry): "He didn't love that ground all that much."
Rachel King (Jacob's Time): "Really good effort. Had to do a bit of work from the gate. Stuck on strongly."
Nash Rawiller (Texas Fireball): "To be fair he was probably beaten at the half mile really. Never handled that ground."
Dylan Gibbons (Our Gold Hope): "Deserved to win. Tried her absolutely guts out. Proud of her effort."
Tom Sherry (Coto De Caza): "Probably not ideal conditions. Maybe in weaker grade."
