Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for November 14.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Port Macquarie, Quirindi, Ballarat, Mackay and Bunbury.
PORT MACQUARIE: RACE 4 @ 3:40 PM
PRANCING WITH FIRE (2) underrated mare holding her form in similar company. Taken to the front with the 58.5kg when sticking on well to finish a gritty fourth over 1400m at the Gold Coast last time out. Near her peak and will prove hard to run down. FLYBALL (8) only the one win from 22 starts and drops 2kg in weight after finishing fifth over this track and trip last time out. Solid each-way contender. ROSSY'S TYPA GIRL (3) is fifth up for this and gets in light again with the claim in this easier contest. Made up ground late when sixth over 1500m at Muswellbrook on November 3. Tempo suits and look for her charging late. DECLUTTER (6) up in grade from the wide gate and was a total forgive when a plodding seventh over 1600m at Taree in the Krambach Cup last time out. Kept fresh and can turn it around.
SELECTIONS: Prancing With Fire to win.

QUIRINDI: RACE 3 @ 3:25 PM
CORPSMAN (4) was struggling before a form reversal last start over 1300m at Scone where she chimed in late and was beaten under a length. Gets back so the small field will suit her racing pattern. Finds a race with little depth so if she holds that Scone form a second career win beckons. LORD PROTECTOR (1) returned from a 23-week spell for a new stable and broke his maiden last time out over 950m at Moree. Tried over middle distances last prep so this extra 250m will hold no fears. Big chance again. NIASU (2) has struggled at all four runs since coming back from a 97-week spell. Nicely drawn and getting down in the weights so give him one more chance. ONE COMMAND (3) has gone off the boil at his last couple but is 2/3 at the trip so must be included. A POUND OF SALT (5) has been well found in early markets and is one to monitor first-up from a spell.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Corpsman.
BALLARAT: RACE 7 @ 4:30 PM
FITZPATRICK (10) resumed with an encouraging run at Mornington when edged out over 1000m, finishing second. He showed plenty of promise in some decent Queensland races last time in and will be fitter. This looks a nice little drop in grade and he should go close. MILO (3) resumes. He won easily as a short-priced favourite on debut before struggling, again as favourite at Pakenham Synthetic. Has ability and should measure up well. WICHITALL (11) has been around the mark of late and rates an each-way chance. PIETRO ROAD (7) is lightly raced and can improve.
SELECTIONS: Fitzpatrick to win.
MACKAY: RACE 6 @ 4:27 PM
POET'S DAY (5) led and won a 55 easily here over this distance and he was beaten a whisker at Yeppoon following in Open grade. He sits down in the weights and Stanley is reunited. He will lead or trail from an inside gate and should have them covered. DOLLAR DOLLAR (4) was well beaten at Rockhampton last time but just missed there this grade prior. He also presents at peak fitness and the extra metres will suit. BONDURANT (2) improved in the Poet's Day race at Yeppoon and is a candidate to lead. He will be around the mark. BERING SEA (1) may be the best of the rest.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Poet's Day.
BUNBURY: RACE 2 @ 5:22 PM
Williams-trained LONG GENES (2) switched from a Sydney barn and was quickly on track beaten a nose over a mile second-up. He has more to give and the gun hoop stays aboard. Maps well and can go one better. MEGAMI (1) peaks and is busting to win. Was narrowly beaten two back and should be sharper with the first-time blinkers applied. CANNY JACK (7) was plain here two back but the form around that reads strongly. Went close at Ascot over this distance last time and maps for a soft run. OCEANZARA (5) peaks and is going well enough to consider. She's at her best over a mile. CANGGU (4) is a leader who demolished the 56 graders at Collie by 7.5L. He was heavily bet again at York following but disappointed. Arrives on a 4-day return and should give a sight.
SELECTIONS: Backing Long Genes.
