Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Newcastle, Benalla, and Gatton.
NEWCASTLE: RACE 5 @ 3:20 PM
LADY ICHIKAWA (6) ready to win at start seven after finishing third at her last three starts. At her top for this and no excuses from the inside draw on her home track. ALICE MAE (1) showed a ton of grit in the heavy (10) going when resuming for a narrow second over 1255m at Taree on August 16. Clearly come back well and has the ability to go one better. DRAMATIC (4) well-bred Snitzel mare out of the smart Shannara on debut for the James Cummings yard. Given plenty of time to mature and fitted with three recent trials. Inside gate is a bonus with Berry booked. AUSBRED MIMOSA (2) frustrating mare near her peak now third-up. Ran on late when an even sixth over 1300m at Hawkesbury on August 13. Finds a fairly weak maiden and should figure prominently.

BENALLA: RACE 6 @ 4:00 PM
PRIVACY TOUR (4) is a leader who was spelled off a well-bet win here on debut. He just missed at Echuca first-up over a mile over a mile in a 64 and this race suits with the extra fitness. Carries just 1.5kg more with the claim. COPPERFIELD (3) won the 58 at Wangaratta as expected and can improve again. Likes it wet. PRANCING QUEEN (13) has been racing well without winning. The extra metres should suit and McDougall replaces the 2kg apprentice. GUNDAROO (1) spikes his figures when narrowly beaten at Echuca over 1290m. This is easier and the 3kg claim brings him into it.

GATTON: RACE 3 @ 2:25 PM
SOCIAL STAR (3) is racing in a rich vein of form this campaign with a win and three top-four performances from four outings and strikes a very winnable contest here. Winning hoop Tilley stays on board and looks the one they all have to run down. FAT FINGERS (6) doesn't win out of turn but is usually thereabouts and has placed around this circuit. Finds a suitable contest here and rates a serious danger. CONQUISTADORES (1) strips fitter second-up from the spell and saves his best form for this mile journey. Top-three candidate. DO IT FOR YOU (2) will be at peak fitness for this and may earn some minor money. KASEAR (8) best of the rest.
