Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for September 06.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Wyong, Mornington, Canberra and Birdsville.
WYONG: RACE 4 @ 2:40 PM
EDITED BY (2) led for home but his condition gave out and he finished fourth when resuming over this distance at Warwick Farm last start. Not a noted first-up performer so no alarm there - has placed 2/2 second-up. Finds the ideal race. NORTON ROAD (3) turned around some ordinary form to score a dogged win at his latest run over 1300m at this track, his second victory from as many appearances at this circuit. Freshened-up and capable of another big run. The flying mare FILL A PROMISE (4) made it five wins on the bounce when she ran her rivals off their legs over 1000m at Scone recently. Up in grade today but impossible to knock. QUEEN BESS (8) resumes. Opened the last campaign with a win at Gosford so keep her in mind. MAZ KANATA (7) returned to winning ways in a Goulburn Class 3 last start. Races well here so another big run looks on the cards.

MORNINGTON: RACE 4 @ 2:00 PM
CORA LYNN (5) if off a short spell here having shown ability in two runs to date. Her debut at Sandown Hillside behind the smart Husk reads well when second before an even effort behind Blue Renegade. She looks nicely placed here. EXPRESS YO'SELF (8) has shown good ability as a 2yo but didn't fire fresh at Bendigo last time in and was quickly sent out. Returns here and if she can find her best she'd go close. FLASH 'N' DASH (2) is a gelding by Overshare on debut. He's looked handy at the trials and is worth keeping an eye on. WINNASEDGE (4) has jumped out well for a sharp stable and is expected to measure up well.

CANBERRA: RACE 4 @ 2:25 PM
The Waller yard seldom ventures here and CEREMONIOUS (5) brings strong metro and provincial efforts to peak. He jumps from the rail and races forward. He will take plenty of beating. DIAMOND DISCOVERY (4) is also Sydney-trained and did a good job at Newcastle first-up when beaten 2.3L over a mile. He'd been off the scene for 365 days and is sure to have come on. May need one more but her best is good enough and she's likely to be hitting the line hard. TAUMATA (7) missed a nose here on the poly 28 days ago spiking his figures. He's trialled sharply since on the turf and Cahill stays aboard. Maps well and shapes as if the middle distance will suit. CRAFT (1) led and improved narrowly beaten at Wagga over a mile. On trial this distance but he's in good hands and hard-fit should run it out. TATIANA EXPRESS (10) has Penza up and goes into the exotics at least.

BIRDSVILLE: RACE 3 @ 2:47 PM
STROMA ASTER (1) won a Gatton Maiden and then switched from a top Brisbane yard and placed at Roma. That's strong form and the 2kg claim brings him right into it. Should have them covered. Darwin trained LORD FENRIR (3) has had two runs in the region and hasn't fired a shot. He has pieces of Darwin form that would see him in the finish and we're likely to see more. TERAMBI (2) switched from a South Australian barn and needed the first-up outing. He is proven second-up and has more up his sleeve. Has a 2kg claim and has to be kept safe. DREYFUS (4) has been knocking on the door and has plenty of weight relief. He can't be ruled out.
