Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for July 10.

Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Warwick Farm, Sandown, Eagle Farm, Belmont, Mount Gambier and Canberra.

WARWICK FARM: RACE 4 @ 2:35 PM

MONARCHS BRAE (5) has progressed nicely in his three runs this prep. Took up the running last start and gave a kick but was nailed close to home over 1900m at Canterbury. Cherry-ripe now and will appreciate the extra trip. The lightly raced GOLDEN PIERRO (13) led all the way to win with a bit in hand over 2000m at Hawkesbury last time out. Needs to go to a new level now but he looks up to the challenge. SEMPER FORTIS (11) has not appeared since a narrow win over 1900m at Canterbury on 10 June. Has form at this trip so don't take him lightly. ELSIE MAY (3) is having her first run beyond a mile but trust the Maher stable decision to go this way. ASGOODASSOBERGETS (1) will enjoy coming back in trip and is rock hard fit after four runs back.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Monarchs Brae.

SANDOWN-LAKESIDE: RACE 8 @ 4:30 PM

NAME DROPPER (10) is unbeaten from two starts, resuming with a strong effort in this grade at Sandown Hillside over 1400m despite being eligible for easier. He's bred to stay so the rise to 1600m will only aid his cause and he maps ideally again. Clearly the one to beat. SPARE COIN (9) won two back at Geelong before an even effort at Sandown Hillside last time. Should be thereabouts. LADY ADELAIDE (13) was better at Sandown Hillside last time when able to lead. Watch for a bold showing. SUPERSTOCK (14) should be running on late.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Name Dropper.

EAGLE FARM: RACE 8 @ 4:34 PM

TANNENBURG (2) has needed all of his 3 starts back from a spell in Sydney and has also been a late scratching since his last start sixth at Canterbury a month ago. She has slid back into an easier grade for his Queensland debut and with Michael Rodd in the saddle, he is the one to beat. MOONSHINE RUN (10) caught the eye when arriving in time from near last to get up and score on debut at Dalby. The bigger circuit here will suit him as will the extra furlong. He is a progressive gelding who looks good enough to overcome a wide draw and make his presence felt again. Stick with him. SHY GUY (1) did not fire in the Queensland Derby and his third at Ipswich before that is the guide to use. Include in all combinations and watch for him late. JENNI MOREESE (13) lightly raced filly who was sixth last start over 1350m at Warwick. Gets back out to winning distance and can play a role.
SELECTIONS: Tannenburg to win.

BELMONT PARK: RACE 4 @ 3:00 PM

DON'T TRUST JUDAS (3) went under narrowly at Northam 27 days ago and looks ready for the rise in trip now. William Pike takes the ride once more and he maps to get every chance from the alley. Thinking he still have more improvement to come and if he does, he should be knocking over this field. ZAZA ROCK (1) blew the cobwebs out with a 5.1L defeat last start when getting back and never really featuring. Straight up to this trip looks ideal and she has placed 2/3 second-up. Can make her presence felt. GRATIAS DEO (8) is ticking along nicely this campaign and can be closing off strongly from the rear. TAK GOES BOOM (9) is better than he's shown lately and is not to be discounted.
SELECTIONS: Don't Trust Judas can get back to winning ways.

MT GAMBIER: RACE 7 @ 3:05 PM

SPIN THE REWARD (4) failed to fire a shot last start at HQ but had been knocking on the door. Is 1/1 at the track and trip and gets some weight off his back. Rates highly on best figures and is a leading player off a freshen. CRACKLE 'N' BURN (6) again showed plenty of early dash last start but couldn't go on with it in the lane. Was a track and trip winner here to kick off the prep and gets in low at the weights. Bold showing anticipated. POWER MISSILE (3) was a stylish winner fresh in testing conditions at Hamilton. Not as effective last start when tackling a tougher field at Ballarat. Better suited in this line-up and is drawn to get all the favours from the inside alley. Can give this a big shake. Cases can also be made for the resuming STORM VOYAGER (8) and THREE GRAND (9) who also boast strong ratings.
SELECTIONS: Backing Spin The Reward to win.

CANBERRA ACTON: RACE 5 @ 3:31 PM

Nick Olive-trained ALL ASTERN (4) will be better for the 2x placings at Albury on wet tracks and should enjoy the Acton surface and longer sprint. She raced favourite last time but didn't have the best of luck behind a big winner. She positions forward and the 1.5kg claim is helpful. Joe Pride's CHIEF WITNESS (5) has threatened his last two at the provincials and is back in grade off the latest. He has to push forward from the outside gate and that's the niggle. FERRARI GIRL (1) comes back plenty in grade. Led and won a 58 easily here three back and went close the one following in Open grade. The 2kg claim helps in the weight department and she can control the race from an inside barrier. VAAROOM (3) resumes for Canberra's premier barn and maps for the run of the race. Finds easier and keep onside at a price. ENDORSEMENT (2) will be fitter and he turned the form around narrowly beaten at Moruya in a CL1. The 3kg claim is handy but the awkward gate requires a good ride.
SELECTIONS: Backing All Astern.
