Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Muswellbrook, Warrnambool, Mount Isa and Penola.

MUSWELLBROOK: RACE 6 @ 4:30 PM

MEDIA FRENZY (4) handy mare with her hoof on the till after a string of minor placings. Snagged back from the wide draw before launching late with an eye catching second over 1400m at Goulburn on October 8. Should get the right tempo to go close again. BUSH TELEGRAPH (2) fitter now after two runs back and the blinkers go on for the first time. Made up good ground late from the wide gate when sixth over 1450m at this track on October 7. Senior rider on and expected to run well. PARIS LAD (3) consistent gelding in the money on all five occasions and set to peak third up. Came out fast from the awkward gate when a tenacious third over 1300m at Scone in the heavy going at latest. Blinkers go on and no shock to see him take this out. ALICE MAE (1) improving mare who relished the extra trip when a tough maiden winner over 1500m at Newcastle on October 5. Ready for this and she doesn't have to improve much to go close again.
SELECTIONS: Media Frenzy win.

WARRNAMBOOL: RACE 3 @ 1:35 PM

FICKLE (3) resumed off a long break beaten a whisker here from the pace. The former Sydney galloper has plenty up the sleeve and fitter is the one to beat. GEFFINA (13) has his third start and is promising. Has the inside barrier and fitter is capable of fighting out the finish. MATROOSHI (8) debuts for the Wilde yard and has trialled well. Needs a good ride but looks to have good ability. BARBIE STAR (10) debuts for the McEvoy hard with the blinkers on. She's been well-trialled and maps for a soft run.
SELECTIONS: Backing Fickle.

MT ISA: RACE 4 @ 3:10 PM

BENEVENTO (6) remained unbeaten on this course with a last-start win by over 5 lengths. He rises in class but drops 3.5kg in weight and should continue on his winning way here. FROZEN PRINCE (7) has a very good record on this circuit with 4 wins and 2 placings from just 7 starts. He fought on well enough to finish fourth at Charleville just over a fortnight ago when starting as favourite and is much better placed over 1450m. He carried 54kg after the claim and should be hard to hold out again. HOTSTEP (3) has changed stables since his last run 11 months ago. He will find things a touch easier in this area and if he doesn't need the hit-out, he will be right in the finish. A market watch is advised. METAL BAR (2) has won 4 of his 7 starts on this track and has had some gear changes since his last run here just over 3 weeks ago when finishing a well-beaten fourth. He is down in class and with a 3kg claim, he can bounce straight back into the money. METAL BAR (4) can win again.
SELECTIONS: Benevento to win.

PENOLA: RACE 7 @ 3:50 PM

BANGERANG REDBACK (2) chased gamely to only miss by a neck last start at Port Lincoln. Steps out in trip on the quick back-up as he tackles similar opposition. Top pick. SIRMAZE (15) was much better last start when sticking on gamely into the placings at Strathalbyn. Is a two-time winner over this trip and Eaton reuniting is a positive. Deserves respect. EM BRYAN (8) wasn't able to bring up the hat-trick last start when well below his best at Manangatang. Better placed this time and can bounce back. HOLD THE PHONE (7) next best.
SELECTIONS: Slight lean to Bangerang Redback.
