Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for October 12.
Major metropolitan meetings are today held at Rosehill, Eagle Farm and Ascot.
ROSEHILL: RACE 5 @ 2:55 PM
COLEMAN (1) is a talented colt who's returned pass marks in his two runs back in Group 1 grade. Drifted back from the inside gate and never got a clear crack at them when sixth in the G1 Manikato Stakes over 1200m at Moonee Valley on September 27. Has a good record here and he can finish over the top of these. SWITZERLAND (2) disappointed on resumption when a wilting ninth over 1200m in the G2 The Run To The Rose here four weeks ago. Finished off with a lot more purpose in a recent 900m Rosehill trial. Maps well and improvement expected. GATSBY'S (4) stalked the good speed from the inside gate when nailed late with the 58kg to run second over 1100m in the LR Heritage Stakes at this track on September 28. Stays in the mix.

EAGLE FARM: RACE 5 @ 3:07 PM
WANDA ROX (6) didn't measure up at Listed level last time out but go on the four-length domination over this track and trip when resuming. Draws the inside marble and gets in well at the weights with the 2kg claim. Will be right there at the business end. NASHIRA (2) loves this course and distance with three wins and two placings from eight attempts. Returned in good order and can go right on with the job now. TIGER SHARK (5) resumes here but revved up for this with a recent Sunny Coast trial win and may run a race while fresh. RUBIQUITOUS (1) best of the rest with the 3kgs off.

ASCOT: RACE 7 @ 7:23 PM
Fascinating race. ESPRIT GARCON (5) was a revelation last campaign as he rocketed through the grades as a red-hot favourite. His recent trial was superb and while he is drawn wide, he'll be back in the run anyway. There looks to be good tempo up front and with his untapped talent, he can storm home over the top. BRAVE SPIRIT (3) won the Raconteur at Listed level just two starts ago before a good effort in the Belmont Guineas. He too may end up back in the run, but he boasts a nice fresh record and he's sure to be strong to the line. Has plenty of class and can show that today. FLY WITH CAUTION (6) showed plenty of ability last campaign when winning three on-end. He was better over further, though he's got plenty of upside and the form from behind him stood up. Can play a major role. SENTIMENTAL BELLE (7) draws a great barrier today and shouldn't be too far away. Live chance. KEEP ATTACKING (9) got the job done impressively last start and has to be included.
SELECTIONS: Siding with Esprit Garcon in a great race.
