Heinous set to rein terror on her rivals in SA Sires’ Produce at Morphettville Parks on Saturday.
After an eye-catching finish last month in the Listed Oxlade Stakes at Eagle Farm, Heinous looks ready to add some black type to her resume when she tackles the Group 3 South Australian Sires' Produce on Saturday.
Shedding the maiden tag in fine fashion (2.3L) at Sadown-Hillside back in May when running to 96 on the Racing and Sports scale, the Brutal filly would run the same figure three weeks later when chasing hard into fifth up in Queensland in Listed company.
Five weeks between runs, Jason Warren has kept the legs of his filly ticking over with a smart Cranbourne (Synthetic) trial win.
It doesn't look like the filly will have to soar to any major new heights come Saturday to be featuring, with the two currently ahead of her in the market posting peaks equal to or a couple of pounds less than hers – Colmar (96) & Supercilious (94).
The good draw (3) should see her settle much closer to the action this time with Teagan Voorham piloting, and I expect her to have plenty left in the locker when they sprint for home.
Another one I'm keen to play comes earlier in the card and it Zanthron from the G & N Searle & B Callanan stable.
The three-year-old returned in career best form here three weeks ago when winding up strongly to be beaten a nose in testing conditions, posting 90 on the R&S scale, nine pounds above his previous peak.
Although yet to taste success second-up, the son of Thronum is a noted improver with a run under the belt but will only need to reproduce his fresh effort to prove too hard to hold out, while his main danger Sir Now will need to improve some 3-4L to match his peak.
