Agadir and Ultimate Gaze can continue their winning form at Randwick on Saturday.
The Peter Snowden-trained Agadir is unbeaten in three starts and appears destined for better things after saluting at Warwick Farm a fortnight ago.
Despite a far from ideal run in transit, Agadir was still a convincing winner and will no doubt have taken benefit from the run.
While up in weight and trip, Agadir should prove hard to beat in the Inglis Bonus Handicap (1600m).
The son of Bernardini has drawn favourably in barrier 2 and will hopefully be settled in handy behind the early lead.
On straightening it should just be a case of McEvoy moving the gelding out into the clear where his class should prevail.
Connections after his latest outing suggested the Brisbane Winter Carnival will be on the agenda for Agadir and if that is to be the case, the gelding will need to continue his upward rating in what shapes as an underwhelming 3YO Benchmark 75.
Ultimate Gaze has hit career best form and currently quoted at double figure odds, looks one of the better value plays at Randwick on Saturday.
The gelding has won his past two outings, the latest on the Kensington track over this distance.
He now rises in grade again where the seven-year-old contests the Sydney R/E Advisors Handicap.
Ultimate Gaze is showing gradual improvement with each run this campaign and should be right at his peak fourth run from a spell.
Under the guidance of up and coming trainer Michael Costa, the gelding doesn’t find an overly tough race at his first foray into weekend city company.
Perfectly poised on the limit weight, Ultimate Gaze can run a bold race at odds.
Myamira is currently vying for favouritism in the January Handicap (1600m).
It is a horrible race and the five-year-old mare does shape as one of the leading chances after winning the Belle Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) at Gosford last start.
She did so with a strong run home and drew clear for a half length win.
While not contesting an overly strong race here, Myamira does sit outside of the handicap and back to taking on open company are just tempering expectations for the moment.
