Rubick has looked “nailed on” for the Blue Diamond since his debut and now gets his chance to do the business in the $1 million classic.

Rubick didn't quite match his blistering Randwick debut performance when winning the Prelude here a fortnight back but he certainly didn't do his reputation any harm.

He’s got speed to burn and when he learns to harness it he is going to be some beast.

His clash this weekend with a star filly in Earthquake is mouth-watering but we’re expecting the colt to triumph and see him as a good bet at 6/4 and upwards.

The Oakleigh Plate is a cracker this year with at least a dozen live hopes set for the famous scamper.

Little doubt that Lankan Rupee is the most likely winner but he’s well found in early betting and given the depth it may prove wise to play elsewhere.

Karacatis was a strong Caulfield winner over the summer and his Salinger effort in the spring was terrific.

$26 looks a twist or two over the odds and he’s certainly one that makes appeal away from the fave.

While those two races look strong renewals of their respective series the Autumn Classic appears anything but.

Deliberate comes up favourite on the back of a maiden win that was cosy but nothing out of the ordinary in terms of the figures returned.

The last start wins of Alpha Beat and Saguaro were at least as good leaving Deliberate making little appeal at the $3.80.
