It is Hill Smith Stakes day at Morphettville and that race has thrown up some interesting runners over the years.

Winners include Beachside, Skybeau, On A Jeune, Gallant Guru and the Derby winner Kibbutz also claimed this 3yo prize.

A horse who has credentials coming out of Victorian lead ups is the Hayes/Dabernig trained Lotion.

By Good Journey, he had no luck whatsoever in the Caulfield race three weeks back and has been given time to get over that.

Prior to, he was close up at the Valley in a race from which we saw War Point then go to Flemington last week and run bravely.

He meets Turbo Street 4kg better from that race where they both raced without fortune.

They might just put the barrier out of play from the start by rolling forward in the small field. Happy to stick with the flying stable with a horse down in grade at value.

The bet of the day could end up being the Mick Price border hopper Seenaan. This colt had two runs back at home including taking a heat of the Taj Rossi series in May.

Quickly up in trip he just battled at Sandown but that track can bring many horses undone.

Given a break, often horses thrive into their three year old year from that time off. Being out of a Zabeel mare, it would not surprise that he could very easily do just that.

Going to put the faith that Mick Price, with his great record of bringing horses west and winning, can do it again.
