Rosehill’s eight race program throws up a couple of nice wagering prospects who can upstage the favourites in their respective events.

A quick scan of early markets finds as much as $4.60 on offer about the Snitzel gelding which included a Carrington Stakes success on resuming over this distance at Randwick.

The five-year-old embarked on a lengthy campaign earlier in the year and added a pair of Listed wins to his name.

Dances On Stars has been readied for this with a 900m trial.

He is also proven first up, at the course and also distance.

The gelding is one of just three horses who sit inside the handicap of the Flying Field on Saturday and should be giving a majority of his rivals substantially more weight.

His 60kg topweight is offset nicely by the 2kg claim of apprentice Lester Grace.

The pair should be able to slot in behind a strong tempo and from there, should be very hard to hold out.

Each way odds about Exceleine appeal in the CFMEU Mining & Energy Division Benchmark 80 fillies and mares handicap over 1200m.

The Exceed And Excel mare was thrown in the deep end last start when asked to make all in the Group 3 Nivison (1200m).

It was a brave run by the four-year-old who on weights and measures was poorly suited in the contest.

She now drops back to handicap conditions which the Gai Waterhouse-trained mare should relish.

The Nivison shapes as the strongest form line of this affair brought into by Exceleine and Commanding Wit.

Exceleine was only narrowly beaten by Commanding Wit on that occasion however now meets her 6kg better at the weights.

It is hard to ignore such a substantial weight swing and Exceleine’s each way quote appears worth taking.
