A pair of first up winners look great chances of consecutive wins at Rosehill on Saturday.

Kaepernick and You’ll Never each hit the ground running at Rosehill three weeks ago with eye catching first up successes.

Kaepernick was superb on resuming, recording a last to first victory at this course, class and distance.

With added fitness second up he has to be considered a major chance of building upon this figure and therefore, hard to beat on Saturday.

Starting his campaign in such a way is highly encouraging and suggestive the Team Hawkes-trained runner can continue working through the grades this winter.

The race prior, You’ll Never contests the Octagonal Handicap.

You’ll Never had a race made to order on resuming when settling worse than midfield and powering home over 1350m.

He meets two of the same rivals he faced on resuming in the Octagonal Handicap (1400m).

Most important about this is the fact one of them is bold frontrunner Rain Affair.

Rain Affair and You’ll Never are each raced by Don Storey and the owner has a strong hand to play in the event.

The former will bowl along out front and has the potential to catch his rivals napping.

The latter will settle back off the strong pace set by Rain Affair and will be powering home late.

The race again appears ideal for You’ll Never who already rates on top amongst this field based on his first up success.

He is open to further improvement second up and will be prominent at the finish.
