Brisbane Best - June 27

The carnival is almost over but the fields haven’t dropped away with another massive card at Doomben and we’re playing some at value.

Race 5 seems the perfect race for Territory to get his career in this area off on a positive note.

He’d been contesting some MUCH stronger events in the Sydney Autumn and even placed in the Expressway to Weary and the Southern Cross to Heart Testa. That is better than this.

Probably starting under the odds in the Lightning Handicap a month ago, he never really came into the race but this race suits him better as it’s not as strong.

He can race in the first half of the field today and prove hard to hold out. At worse get into the placings.

The Tony Edmonds trained Our Boy Nicholas has absolutely thrived since heading to Queensland.

The four year old went all the way from a Class 3 win to Class 6 and even finished second in the Magic Millions Stayers Cup behind Tinto.

He loves Doomben with three wins and a second and the record resuming is very solid too.

Just need them to be able to run on but they have been able to do that all through the Winter so far. Plus a soft track won’t hurt either as he’s had two trials to be ready. Did open at great odds.
